act of valor a laght night jn201 blogg

I chose to do a review on the movie act of valor. The movie was written by Kurt Johnstad the same writer that wrote other notable films as 300 and true vengeance. This film was also directed by an all-star duo of directors Matt McCoy and Scott Waugh. They along with a cast of active duty navy seals and special warfare combatant’s composed the bulk of the cast. The reason that this movie is breaking news or should be is that they are the team that took out Binladen in the raid that downed a helicopter and led to a break in what the terrorist that did 9-11 and how they pulled it off along with some other plots on future attacks. The trailer I have is from youtube.com and is brief synapses of the movie without giving too much away http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnlPgo9TaGo .

To describe this movie to some one that has never seen combat or been in the military would be a feat of what I can and can’t do in a blog. But what I can do Is state that this movie brings me back to that brother hood feeling that I got while I was in the army. I know I know different branches. Yes but at the same time all a band of brothers that have the same core values loyalty, duty, honor, respect, selfless service. Now with that in mind let me try and explain where the movie takes place. The movie takes place in several locations in the word (not really the bulk of the film was in Cambodia were they shot a seen with 300 child extras and a explosion.) some other locations were in florida, and John C. Stennis Space Center in Mississippi to name a few.
If I were to compare this movie to others that Kurt Johnstad has written it would probably be a movie that was relist in 1996 and is called true vengeance the movies a nonfiction movie that is also about military.
Why I think this movie is part of history well it’s engaging an audience that has been around for the most part scene the 9-11 incident. They are also targeting every true blooded American person with  a message that freedom is not free and if you want it you have to fight for it. From what I have seen there is violence but not over the top violence. There are also some cruse words that may not be appropriate for small children under a certain age.
For the fact of is this movie a flop or is it a movie that we should all watch over and over again , and now keep in mind this is my opinion I feel that Kurt Johnstad made a movie that has some body to it. Anyone could have made the movie but it was him who wrote all the intricacies of the 300 movie he put that ooooo and awwwwwwwwwwww factor in the movie and really brought it to life. For a movie that deadline.com called the most expensive film bought with a no name cast, and yet it’s a hit it broke 100 million dollars in under a week I think.
When this movie is released on June 5th 2012 I will be the first person in my town to buy it is that good that it will sit on my wall of fame shelf and I will make a special day to play it every month along with the 300 both are awesomely well written movies by  Kurt Johnstad.
In conclusion of my blogging I have learned that the guy (Kurt Johnstad) who made one of my favorite movies also made act of valor one of my all-time movies.  I learned that this movie is even more bad ass than I thought when I first saw the movie, and it shall never die. If you want my opinion buy two or three copies of this timeless movie so when your kids or grand kids come over or are old enough they can watch it and think wow those few people that call them self’s soldiers did that so I could be free; wow I want to be in the military.
Ps I also have one more thing to say in the research for this blog on act of valor I found something out that I and you probably did not know the navy gave their blessing on this film in hopes that it would drive up the number of people that wanted to join the navy to be a seal.

The ooo awww feeling that is Disney.

The ad that I chose is http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=endscreen&v=QkNuqQK4Vr4 this ad is set with that fairy tale type music and is set in Disney parks along with a few families’ homes along with an airport. In this commercial there is no one person of note unless you count Buzz light year or Dumbo .the ad has a run time of one minute twenty three seconds which is a fairly large ad considering that most ads on TV are around 30 or so seconds, also this ad is part of a lager ad campaign that Disney launched called let the memories begin.

The ad that I chose to do is based on the plan folks advertising methods and the reason that I feel this way is it is a positive message that memories are made at Disney parks, also it is meant to make everyone feel good as well as want to go to Disney parks. It also incorporates the association principal of advertising in that it is a positive message as opposed to the myth approach which is more of a negative ad strategy. I think this ad campaign makes fairly good use of its medium, for when watching you want to go and buy a trip to Disney parks.
I believe that the meaning of the message is one of family and happy time memories. It is a new style of ad one where they use real people and not actors and real home videos shot by moms and dads. I believe that the target demographic is moms and dads with children of all ages. This add was not offensive nor did it include any stereotypes of any kind.

The strengths of this ad I feel are it has a very broad base of people from young to old it should hit the same place on every parent or grandparent. It is also a memorable ad for it shows that face that every parent wants to see the shock and omg face.  I think this ad works and so do http://wdwnewstoday.com/archives/6022  or http://www.laughingplace.com/  who wrote a blog that is all about how to be part of the ads of Disney and why it is a good ad. It also got me to take my family to Disneyland so I say it works and works well, yet it is still to be seen if it met my or anyone’s needs for it is still a fairly new campaign and is yet to be seen if it will meet the needs of the demographic

In all of this chaos that I call my first blog I have learned that I hate blogs and will probably never do anymore after the class is over. Also I learned that what is good for the usa marketing is not so good for the other nations of the world e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=al2RarBkHk0 if they were to release this into the us market it would not hit the right cored with us as unites states citizens as if we were going to re-televise our based commercial into their country it would probably not hit the right core audience either. When I took a closer look at the ad to see if anything surprised me it would have had to have been the fact that they used no famous people in their ad it was one of the few ads that I have seen in forever that have not had at least one famous person in them at all.
